Local-first means your purchase history is not our database.

This policy explains every kind of information Order Mirror handles, why it is needed, where it goes, and how you can delete it.

Summary

Order Mirror gives users a portable, searchable copy of item details from Amazon orders they intentionally capture. Its matching index is stored in chrome.storage.local for the current Chrome profile. There is no Order Mirror account, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or developer-operated purchase-history server in this release.

Prominent data disclosure

When you select Sync, Order Mirror reads the visible Amazon order number, item names, quantities, prices, product identifiers and links, order date, total, currency, and source page. It saves those facts in this browser. In Gmail, it examines the visible sender context and order number of open messages to find an exact Amazon shipment match. If you separately publish a self-receipt, the selected order details are sent to the Gmail recipient you review and choose.

Information the extension handles

On supported Amazon order pages

  • Amazon order number and merchant name
  • Product title, quantity, price, identifier, product link, and image link
  • Order date, total, currency, and source-page URL
  • Capture and update timestamps used to maintain the local record

On Gmail

The extension processes visible sender context and Amazon order numbers needed to identify an open shipment message and perform an exact local match. It does not use the Gmail API to search the mailbox, read unrelated messages in the background, or send mailbox content to Order Mirror.

Settings and local files

Order Mirror stores publishing consent, each order's Gmail or Local-only choice, an optional self-receipt destination address, schema metadata, and interface preferences. If you export a backup, the downloaded JSON file contains purchase history and settings and should be treated as sensitive.

How the information is used

Order Mirror uses the handled information only to:

  • build the local order index after a user-requested Amazon capture;
  • match an open Amazon shipment message by exact order number;
  • render a clearly attributed item card in the user's Gmail page;
  • create a user-requested self-receipt for review in Gmail; and
  • support user-controlled export, import, and deletion.

The information is not used for advertising, price discrimination, credit decisions, profiling, sale, or an undisclosed secondary purpose.

Where the information goes

Captured records stay in the Chrome profile where Order Mirror is installed. Matching and the restored-item card are generated on that device. Order Mirror does not transmit captured purchase history to its developer, data brokers, or advertisers.

If the user enables Gmail publishing and selects Publish, version 0.1.0 opens a prefilled Gmail compose window. The user reviews the recipient and content and must select Send. Google then receives and stores that message under the applicable Google account settings. Order Mirror cannot promise how Gmail, Gemini, or another Google service will classify or use it.

Normal visits to Amazon and Gmail still communicate with those services under their own terms. Product or image URLs visible in those pages may be requested from their respective hosts as part of ordinary browsing.

Chrome permissions and purposes

storage

Saves captured orders, settings, consent choices, and schema metadata locally.

activeTab

Grants temporary access to the active Amazon order page only after the user selects Sync.

scripting

Runs the packaged Amazon parser in that user-selected active tab. No remote code is executed.

mail.google.com

Matches visible Amazon shipment order numbers and renders the local restoration card in Gmail.

The packaged build does not request Chrome identity, Gmail API, mailbox-read, browsing-history, cookies, downloads, or persistent Amazon host permissions.

Your choices, retention, and deletion

  • You choose each Amazon page capture by selecting Sync.
  • You can mark any captured order Local only.
  • Gmail self-receipts require global opt-in and an explicit Publish action.
  • You can export or merge-import a local JSON backup.
  • You can delete all local captures from Order Mirror settings.
  • Removing the extension clears its extension-local storage for that profile.

Clearing Order Mirror cannot delete information already held by Amazon or Google, a self-receipt already sent through Gmail, or a backup already downloaded to the user's device. Those copies remain under the user's control and the applicable service's retention rules.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Order Mirror's handling and use of user information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is handled only as strictly necessary to provide the disclosed, user-facing receipt-portability purpose. The developer does not transfer it for advertising, allow humans to read it, or use it for an unrelated purpose.

Order Mirror is designed to give users access to their own receipts. It is not designed to bypass safety guardrails, usage restrictions, or protective measures implemented by an AI-powered service.

Changes, security, and support

Any release that changes collection, storage, sharing, export, permissions, or data handling will update this policy and disclose the change to users before the new practice begins. Order Mirror never asks for account passwords or authentication cookies. Anyone with access to the Chrome profile or an exported backup should still treat the records as sensitive purchase history.
